It is important to shed light on the issue of grief and loss as it is a universal experience that many people struggle with. The numbers show how prevalent this issue is and how important it is to have resources available to those who are dealing with it.
According to the American Psychological Association, 60% of people report that they have experienced significant loss by the age of 18. Additionally, the National Institute of Mental Health reports that 1 in 5 adults in the United States experiences a mental illness in any given year, which can often be related to experiences of grief and loss. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought a new level of loss and grief to individuals and communities around the world.
It is clear that the issue of grief and loss is one that affects many people, and having resources available to help individuals cope and heal is crucial. Our upcoming adventure book about grief and loss can help provide hope, unity, and love to those who are struggling.
It is important to spread the word about resources like this in order to help those who need it most.
As a child, I was always enamored by cartoons like Bugs Bunny, Flintstones, Top Cat, Snorkels, Fraggle Rock, Muppets, Reading Rainbow, Care bears, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Justice League and so many more cartoons. The things I identified most with were the messages and real-life experiences shared through animation. Never in my lifetime could I have imagined making a cartoon for kids to empower them!
